Ghostbusters Review

I have had a couple of days to check out this game online and single player.  I have some great things to say about this game and some less than par things to say. I will start with the highlights and very fun aspects of this game.

Out of the box this is a very solid game – game play and graphics are good, very smooth.  The story is fun and keeps you moving through out the game.  If you are an older gamer it really takes you back to the movies and that is something that won me over right off.  All the voices in the game are the original actors from the movies and it really makes the characters/story come alive.  The system to trap ghost and use of all the cool toys from the movies are super easy and really fun.  If you are looking for a game to take you back to the 80′s-90′s, solid, fun, and not too challenging this is for you.  Online play has many different kinds of games to play, it will also let you hook up with your friends to take down some ghost.

My biggest complaint about this game is the online co-op play.  You can play co-op with your friends but you cannot go through the main story with them.  You can only do objective type play which can be fun but the “story mode” is single player only.  The boss fights in the game are not too challenging nor complicated, that can be a pro if you are into that but I like a challenge.  Each level plays the same without much variety, trapping ghost and fighting possessed objects.  Sure it is Ghostbusters but for more proactive gamers it falls short. For a game that was delayed I would have expected a little more.

I give this game a 7.5 on a 1-10 scale. 10 being the best.
